Peter Willis is the finder and president of the Nancy Blackett Trust which preserves Arthur Ransome’s boat of that name, the original of the Goblin in We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea. He is also a trustee of the Arthur Ransome Society and was involved in the rescue and restoration of the boat that appears as the Swallow in the 1974 film of Swallows and Amazons. A marine journalist and author, he lives in Woodbridge.
He recently received one of the RYA’s most prestigious awards in recognition of his services to sailing. His Lifetime Commitment Award was presented to him by HRH the Princess Royal
